BYD's March production and sales data also fully demonstrated the company's achievements and determination to fully embrace new energy. In the first quarter of this year, the cumulative output of BYD's new energy vehicles reached 287,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 416.96%; the cumulative sales volume reached 286,300 units, a year-on-year increase of 422.97%. Among them, the company sold a total of 104,300 new energy passenger vehicles in March, a year-on-year increase of 346% and a month-on-month increase of 19.28%. In the first quarter of this year, BYD's sales of pure electric and plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles were 143,000 and 142,000 respectively, a year-on-year increase of 271.1% and 857.4%, and a month-on-month increase of 5.6% and 11.2%.
According to public information, BYD has ranked first in China's new energy vehicle sales for 9 consecutive years. In 2021, BYD will sell 593,000 new energy passenger vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 2.3 times, including 320,000 pure electric passenger vehicles and 273,000 plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 times and 4.7 times.
